Nepal
The world has slowly started to open its gates after the Covid pandemic and I made sure to restart my travels. The first country on my list was Nepal. Well, although I grew up in Bihar, the neighbouring region of Nepal, I never had an opportunity to visit the Land of Everest. Years later as I did visit the country, I realised what I have missed in my past. Nepal is also the birthplace of Lord Buddha. I can list innumerable reasons why one should visit this country of temples and yaks once in a lifetime. In the Kathmandu valley, there are three royal Durbar Squares marked by multiple historical palaces, courtyards and pagodas. Buddhist monasteries and huge stupas will leave history, art and architecture enthusiasts dumbstruck. Many important Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrimage sites can be found at various locations across the country. Apart from that, Nepal is also home to UNESCO World Heritage sites. One of them is Lumbini, the birth city of Lord Buddha. National parks like Chitwan boast of jungles and grasslands with a diverse wildlife. Not to forget, the tastiest foods of Nepal include the homely Dal Bhat and the very popular Momos. Nepal’s artistic masterpieces, specially the Thanka paintings and heritage sites impressed me so much that I am going to return there one day. Come with me on my journey and be a part of this amazing experience through my mini blogs.
