In This Guide
Where is Annecy ?
Located in the southeastern part of France, Annecy sits at the northern tip of Lake Annecy, the France's second-largest lake. It rests against the backdrop of the snow-capped French Alps. This charming town is a part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region that is approximately 35 kilometers south of Geneva, Switzerland. Renowned for its crystalline canals, Annecy's charm is further enhanced by its proximity to the Mont Blanc massif, adding a touch of grandeur to its already mesmerizing landscape.

Old Town Street Along the Thiou
If you take a walk on the streets of Quai de l'Île and Quai de l'Évêché, you can cover all the beautiful old town footbridges of Annecy. The photogenic Pont Perrière, Passage de l'Île, Pont Morens, Pont Bacchus and Rue De La Republic Pont are a visual delight. You will be amazed at the beauty of the pastel-hued buildings proudly standing on the river Thiou.

Quai de la Tournette Promenade
From the Quai de la Tournette promenade, there are rewarding views of the mountain La Tournette. The majestic silhouette of La Tournette, stands as a symbol of the region's awe-inspiring natural grandeur. This iconic mountain amplifies Annecy's already picturesque setting. At the promenade, you can combine your photo session with a relaxing stroll and a cozy picnic.

St. François Park
The St. François Park is 15 minute drive from Annecy. Although this place is not directly in Annecy, I would still recommend you to visit it because of Château de Duingt. This castle is an invitation to capture the essence of history and natural beauty, all in one frame. Its rustic stone facades stand in harmonious contrast to the azure Lake Annecy waters and the magnificent Dents de Lanfon mountain behind.
